Being the President of the free world has a whole new meaning.
There may have been some trouble over at THQ but not to fear Saints Row IV was never in doubt. Scott Phillips principal designer and the rest of his team over at Volition were hard at work on Saints Row IV right after the launch of Saints Row III. The guys always new that Saints Row IV would be coming out it was just a matter of who would be the lucky publisher.
Saints Row IV puts you as the President of the United State of America... Logical choice right? We think so! After an Alien invasion you and the rest of the Saints are abducted and are brought to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. A world created from your mind as the aliens use this Stealport world to try and indoctrinate you. In a Saints Row fashion Volition pushed the limits as to what you can do this time around, being the President of the free world was not going to be enough so now you have Super Powers. The ability to run like the flash, glide like Rocky the squirrel and jump really high like a guy that can well, jump really high. Those are just a few of the things your new found Super Powers can do.
Besides having Super Powers they have introduced a few new weapons to the game. One of them being an Inflato Ray which you may have seen it briefly in the release trailer. With the inflato can run around inflating people’s heads till they pop. Another new weapon and by far my favorite is the dubstep gun. Dubstep is now mainstream and yea your probably sick of it, but when you see people dancing to death and cars hydro lifting off the ground, Like myself you will not be able to look at dubstep the same way again. I in fact think I may smile and chuckle a little every time i hear Dubstep now.
Not every new weapon makes it into the final game. One of those weapons that did not make the cut was a gun that would cause a swarm of attacking monkeys to come out of know where and kill your target. Now that sounds like one fun weapon. In Saints Row III you have a Dildo Bat, but I can’t get a swarming attack monkey gun? So that’s where Volition draws the line Dildo Bats ok, Swarming attack monkeys, not ok. If we have learned anything about Volition they find ways to push the limits of what you can do, Last year it was the controversial Dildo bat, this year maybe an Alien Probe weapon? just saying.
With all joking aside Saints Row IV is looking to be a must have game of 2013 and with an August release coming up fans of the series will not have to wait for too long.
